World Glaucoma Day in BBI Center in Loris Optics
On the occasion of World Day of glaucoma, Clinical Center of Sarajevo University, Department of Ophthalmology and Alcon Pharmaceuticals Ltd. BH in cooperation with the Optics Loris, organizes free preventive examinations in Optics Loris citizens in BBI Center March 14th 2012., in the period from 12.00 to 18.00.
One of the goals of World Glaucoma day is to raise as much awareness about the disease. It is important to say that patients often do not know they have glaucoma because it is a disease without symptoms, and the timely detection of the disease, damage can’t be prevented.
Glaucoma is a progressive disease that causes blindness, because it comes with no visible symptoms of deterioration of the optic nerve, and in more than 50 percent of patients was revealed in late stages, when it is harder to treat. It is also one of the most common causes of blindness in the world.
